The free world should do what they didn't as to Saddam, certainly not Sr Bush and especially Jr Bush. Seek indictments on the World Court targeting Assad, top Syrian government officials surrounding him, top Syrian military officials right down to jr Syrian officers directly involved with the delivery of the rockets with the chem weapons used. If known or can be identified through any proof American intelligence has collected, the U.N. inspectors bring out, the French intelligence being gathered, same for the German intelligence agencies and any other countries knowledge. Let the chips fall where they may on who might also have known, who might have supplied or help in the Syrian manufacturing of these weapons.
Saddam was captured, still wondering what ever happened to the reported Saddam look alike's the same press reporting on never did explain, tried and hung within Iraq. Reason, all the charges of War Crimes and Crimes against humanity, for decades and especially during Iraq's wars, had the possibility of bringing out all the decades of support and help from he held with the U.S. and who championed him within our government, many being part of both the administrations of Bush Sr. and Jr. and driving forces in wanting him gone along with all he knew.
Would indictments against the Syrian leadership be nothing more then symbolic, possibly, but Assad right now has no free reign in travel within his country unless extremely heavily guarded same goes for the rest of the leadership. And if indictments and World court trials bring convictions anyone dealing with him and his regime would be labeled as dealing with convicted war criminals. Any would also be blocked from traveling to other countries as they also worry about being sought out and captured by their own countrymen to be turned over to serve out sentences.
We ask the Obama administration to reverse its decision to grant Westfall immunity to George W Bush. The Bush administration committed serious war crimes and needs to be brought to justice in a court of law. The Obama Administration should be aiding the plaintiffs in this case, not trying to obstruct justice. Instruct Attorney General Holder to reverse this decision immediately.
