forced to axe Kelly documentary

BBC is 'forced to axe Kelly documentary after Geoff Hoon pulls out'

An edition of Radio 4’s The Reunion – focused on the Hutton Inquiry into the weapons inspector’s apparent suicide – was due to be broadcast in July.

Five guests including Mr Hoon were booked to appear on the programme, which would have marked the seventh anniversary of Dr Kelly’s body being found.

But the broadcast was shelved at the 11th hour after Mr Hoon expressed doubts about the direction it was likely to take.

Of particular concern to him was the fact that he would have to ‘defend’ the Hutton Report – which has been described as a whitewash by critics – while others ‘attacked’ it. {read rest}
