Opinion: UK torture claims
07/05/10: The Financial Times has an editorial arguing that David Cameron should ensure the investigation inquiry into allegations that British intelligence agencies were complicit in the torture of terror suspects after 9/11 is swift and robust. It should be led by a judge to distance it from the Whitehall and intelligence establishments. Much of its evidence will need to be heard in secret to protect the confidentiality of the security services. But the inquiry should be clear about whether ministers and senior officials were made aware of any questioning of tortured suspects that may have taken place. -->-->-->
